Each year, on Christmas Eve, the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury hosts a community pageant at the Agricultural Hall attended by over 800 people.

Tisbury residents voted in favor of borrowing $4.8 million to overhaul and expand the Vineyard Haven Public Library at a special town meeting that lasted more than three hours Tuesday. 

Even the Grinch couldn’t help but get in the Christmas spirit Saturday morning for the annual parade through the streets of Edgartown. "Don’t believe what they show you in the movies,” Mr. Grinch said. “I love Christmas and I love kids.”

This weekend Christmas in Edgartown arrives, with the annual lighthouse lighting taking place Friday night, and the parade down Main street beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Neighbors exchanged warm greetings while sipping on soup from Orange Peel Bakery, while artisans shared new techniques and styles they used to make their ceramics, clothing and jewelry.

Blake Wasson has been hunting since he was a kid. For him, it is a way to honor the forests and spend time outdoors. Recently, he has taught himself how to tan hides and make decorative pieces.
