Chilmark voters will meet Saturday to take up the question of whether to approve another $1.2 million to advance the construction of a new firehouse and Tri-Town Ambulance building.

Oak Bluffs harbor master Todd Alexander will retire after 29 years on the job, it was announced at the town select board meeting Tuesday. The retirement is effective July 1; Mr. Alexander will work part time this summer.

The ferry Woods Hole was sidelined Saturday after the Steamship Authority discovered a leak in the vessel’s coolant system last week, spokesman Sean Driscoll confirmed. The Governor is running in her place.
