The wrestling team was crowned Cape and Islands champions, the swim team excelled at sectionals, girls hockey is on a tear, and the basketball teams are keeping playoff hopes alive.

The girls hockey team has been racking up wins lately as the high school winter sports season inches closer to the playoffs.

We’ve entered the thick of the winter sports season at the high school and the boys hockey team is leading the way with six wins so far.

The Vineyard boys hockey team is firing on all cylinders to start the season, and Nate Averill notched his 100th career goal, scoring four against Dennis-Yarmouth.

Winter sports are back in action at the high school as the Vineyard’s student athletes ramp up for basketball, hockey, indoor track, wrestling and swimming.

Paul Steyer and Emma Squire will represent the Vineyard as individual runners in the cross country state finals, and Elleanor Mone and Reese Malowski also earned first team Eastern Mass. all-star status.
