The Island’s only intensive outpatient substance abuse program, New Paths Recovery, was inaugurated with a five-year grant from the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital in the summer of 2010. That grant is set to expire in 10 months.
’Tis the season to offer gratitude for the generosity of others. Those of us who have the privilege of working in Martha’s Vineyard Community Services New Paths Recovery Program want to give our thanks to Island businesses and community members who have been integral to the success of this program.
In the past, staff at the Gosnold rehabilitation center on Cape Cod have seen Vineyard patients board the boat back to the Island and worried about their fragile state, knowing there was no day program for therapy and support. Now with the Martha’s Vineyard Community Services New Paths Recovery Program, all that has changed.
