Selectmen voted Friday to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Boys and Girls Club related to the planned purchase of 21 acres off the Edgartown-West Tisbury Road.
Leaders from the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital came before the Edgartown selectmen Monday to update the board on their substantial building project.
Abutters zeroed in on an incipient plan by the Boys and Girls Club of Martha’s Vineyard to develop a new campus in Edgartown Tuesday night.
The historic club, which serves more than 1,800 Island children each year, has signed an agreement to buy 21 acres of land for an eventual new campus in Edgartown, club leaders confirmed.
As the census continues to grow, the Boys and Girls Club facility off Robinson Road in Edgartown is no longer adequate to serve the needs.
