Fire crews determined the broken water heater at the Summercamp Hotel had caused some smoldering fire Saturday.
Firefighters from across the Island responded to a fire that broke out at a home on Pennywise Path shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday.
A fire that started early Sunday morning has damaged Mikado, a restaurant that was planning to open this spring in the former space occupied by The Cardboard Box.
It’s not clear how much repairs will cost, but the fire burned through some shingles and into the building.
A fire broke out at a home on Laura’s Way at about 10:12 p.m. Saturday, according to the Oak Bluffs fire department. The single-family home was totally in flames when firefighters arrived and nearby residents were evacuated.
Students at the Oak Bluffs School are safe but the entrance to the school has been closed by the fire department.
