Empire Builders, whose worker fell and died at an Edgartown construction site in February, is being fined nearly $20,000 for failing to give the proper safety training to its employees.

Family and friends of Jorge Marcelo Yanza Riera, who died after falling at an Edgartown construction site last week, remembered him as a hard worker who had recently moved to the U.S.

Vineyard Wind is putting the final touches on its two-story, 14,000-square foot operations and maintenance headquarters on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven.

In a presentation to the select board Tuesday, Tighe & Bond, the company in charge of the East Chop revetment and coastal bank restoration project, anticipated that construction could start September 2025 and potentially end in May 2027.
