Marcileia and Adeilton Dasilva of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Emily Rodregues Dasilva, born on Feb. 15, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Emily weighed 7 pounds, 8.8 ounces at birth.

Alishay Arrives

Brigette Gibson and Moe Johnson of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Alishay Marie Johnson, born on Feb. 2, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Alishay weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces at birth.

Anna and Jim Greene of West Tisbury announce the birth of a daughter, Floreana Jade Greene, born on Feb. 18, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Floreana weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces at birth. She is welcomed by her big sister, Tikopia Greene.

You came to the Vineyard on a steamer, not a ferry, and she landed at Oak Bluffs. But not in a slip.

And a few folks, the rich and adventurous, arrived by seaplane, flying from Woods Hole and landing in Vineyard Haven harbor.

And if you said you were going to the “crick,” you didn’t have to explain where it was.

Welcome Laila

Laila Elizabeth Branca was born at 10:42 a.m. on Feb. 16 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth. The happy parents are Kerry and Bobby Branca of Edgartown. The proud grandparents are Elizabeth Branca of Canton, Mike and Sandy Joyce, and Ray and Annie Long, all of Edgartown.

Nicole DerManelian and Mark Begle of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a daughter, Arjuna DerManelian Begle, born on Feb. 7, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Arjuna weighed 7 pounds, 10.6 ounces at birth.
