On behalf of the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard I wish to publicly thank some very amazing young people who are summer visitors to the Vineyard.
The Island is emptying out after Labor Day, but not the cat adoption room at the animal shelter. It is alive with kitten energy.
The animal shelter is having a run on kittens. Just this week seven motherless little ones were delivered to us in a plastic bin.
It’s a pet party when the Harbor View Hotel and the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard hosting their annual Celebration of Pets on Saturday, June 7.
The orange kittens are entertaining the staff and those who come to visit them. Foxy, a 2-year-old female Maine coon, is becoming a little more sociable. Ten-year-old Cody, also a shy girl, is also waiting for adoption.
Hurray, hurray, the month of May! Looking out at the strip of blooming tulips and daffodils in front of the Animal Shelter, we are enjoying a bit of warmth. Our kittens are now on their feet and will soon be roaming around learning how to use a litter box and eat solid food. Mama cat is ever vigilant, however. All of the above indicate that spring has indeed sprung.
