November's full moon, known as the beaver moon across the country, but coined the bay scallop moon by our resident skywatcher Mark Lovewell, will showcase the full moon at its perigee, or closest point to the Vineyard during the lunar orbit. The so-called super moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon to rise in almost 69 years. In fact, the full moon won't come this close to the Island again until Nov. 25, 2034.
Keep your eyes up and you will notice this full mooon is brighter. It will be 30 per cent brighter than a full moon at its farthest from Earth.
