The beach plums along Sengekontacket Pond shows signs of primping itself for a remarkable display, migrant birds are appearing among the fresh green of tree limbs beginning to leaf, and almost as many shops are opening their doors in the down-Island towns as spring flowers are blooming. It's May on the Vineyard.
