Though piles of snow are recently melted, signs of spring are all around on Martha's Vineyard, with snowdrops at Polly Hill Arboretum and even a tadpole in Priester's Pond. Some unusually warm weather made it easy to believe that the worst of winter was in the past.
But New Englanders know that the next snowstorm or cold snap could be just around a corner. Keep the mittens handy, but also keep an eye out for signs that spring gets closer each day.
