Each year, since 1993, the few, the strong, the tough of feet have gathered to walk another large stretch of the Island. Known as the Cross-Island Hike, the annual event celebrates National Trails Day with a very long hike along a different route of the network of trails available to Vineyard hikers every day of the year. This year's hike began on Menemsha Beach and ended at Blackwater Pond.
