The informal summer season opened on the Island during the long Memorial Day holiday weekend in late May. But that turning point seems so distant. Whatever became of May and for that matter so much of June. Now the rush is toward our next holiday appointment with the grand Fourth of July celebration, the turnover moment when the June people give way to the July visitors.
