Chili cooks came from as far away as Worcester to compete in WMVY's 29th annual Big Chili festival, and more than 1,700 attendees were on hand to taste the results of their hard work.
The event is a fundraiser for the Red Stocking fund, which provides toys and clothing for children in need at Christmas. Event organizers said this year's chili contest raised more than $27,000 for the fund.
