Ferries were cancelled, students given a snow day, and roads and government offices closed Monday as a day-long storm hit the Island. A blizzard warning was in effect from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Roads were underwater because of coastal flooding and the Island hunkered down to brave the storm.
