A classic Bermuda high over the Atlantic was responsible for the hot, sunny and humid month of July that just ended. Temperatures were well into the 80s for much of the month, and rainfall was close to average.
When you go to the Farmers’ Market, you trust the food you’re buying because you buy it straight from the farmer. You know where it came from, how it was grown, who picked it, and you are able to ask questions a grocery store clerk might not be able to answer. With the Island Grown Initiative’s (IGI) poultry mobile processing unit, knowing where your food comes from has taken on a new meaning for Vineyarders — they are now able to buy Island-raised chickens in the market.

Two planets in our western sky are only two degrees apart: The red planet Mars and the ringed planet Saturn are so close, they form a perfect pair. This close relationship will last only a couple of nights, as Mars begins to move eastward appearing to pass by and under Saturn. Tonight the two planets are bright and easy to spot.
