More citizens need to run for government committee seats or town management positions. This will ensure a greater diversity of ideas, proposed solutions, and more constructive discussions prior to the adoption of regulations and expenditures of each town.
At West Tisbury’s annual town meeting on Tuesday, April 8, at the West Tisbury School gym, there will be a warrant article asking the town to vote to use $30,000 of Community Preservation Act funds for design and permitting costs to dredge the Mill Pond.
At some point pharmacies will be universally banned from selling tobacco products as they already are in some parts of the country. But as health professionals we shouldn’t wait until we’re forced to do the right thing, the thing we’re sworn to do.
I realize the bike path has to be plowed so maybe it’s time to hire someone who an actually drive a snowplow without destroying everything in its path.
Cooperative food markets are owned by the members who join them for an initial but reasonable investment. The markets work within the local community to offer local farm produce, dairy, seafood and meats along with regional produce and a wide variety of quality and organic dry goods and products.
