Yes, the MVRHS needs a new track. But not this way nor for this much.
We would like to share our thoughts on creating more affordable housing units that could have a significant impact on our present housing crisis. Presently, there are hundreds of homes for rent on Airbnb for Martha’s Vineyard on a short-term basis. In Tisbury, where we reside, my wife and I have had an owner-operated bed and breakfast (The Look Inn) for over 28 years with reasonably-priced rates for our guests.
Passed in 1642 to regulate rights in the waters of the Massachusetts Colony, the Public Trust Doctrine is one of the oldest statutes in the country, with roots as ancient as western civilization itself.
For a few years now, the Vineyard Conservation Society has been working to reduce the waste and pollution associated with bottled water through our Take Back the Tap initiative.
Our children have given us a great gift. They have given us the gift of opportunity — an opportunity to right a wrong, to do the right thing.
I am writing in support of the herbicide home rule article that will be on the warrant for several upcoming town meetings in April; it has already been approved by Aquinnah, Tisbury and West Tisbury.
