No new coronavirus cases were reported on the Vineyard Tuesday, while statewide confirmed cases continued to soar, along with the death toll from the disease.

Confirmed cases of Covid-19 on the Island held steady Monday, after case reporting discrepancies among the hospital, boards of health and state led to a one-case overcount.

Staggered shifts and scaling back on arrests are among the new protocols that have been adopted by Island police and emergency responders during the pandemic.

No new coronavirus cases were reported on Martha’s Vineyard Sunday, while statewide cases continued to rise and a new field hospital on Cape Cod was announced by Gov. Charlie Baker.

Two more cases of Covid-19 were confirmed Saturday, bringing the total of confirmed cases on the Island to 12. No one with the virus is hospitalized at the Martha's Vineyard Hospital.

Steamship Authority officials said work will continue as planned on the new, $70 million shoreside terminal reconstruction project. And all proper precautions are being taken, they said.
