This weekend marks the 10th Della Hardman Day, which begins Friday with the opening of a Featherstone exhibition. In honor of the milestone anniversary, Mrs. Hardman’s students are returning to the Island.
Each year more than 6,000 people are served by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, the largest human service provider on the Island.
“I always think that number is so important,” said Sandy Pimentel, a member of the board of directors. “And they never turn people away.”
On Saturday, July 26, Amy Goodman, the host and co-founder of Democracy Now! will give a talk at the Katharine Cornell Theatre. Proceeds will benefit local radio station WVVY.
The Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) will host a ceremonial opening today of a heritage exhibit at the Gay Head Cliffs in Aquinnah. The exhibit was created by the Natural Resources and Tribal Historic Preservation Departments and will feature the history, culture and present-day programs of the tribe.
