All of a sudden carriers full of kittens are arriving at the shelter. Six young ones have arrived. They are 10 weeks old and bring out the awww factor in all who see them. Our older cats are leaving at a rapid pace.
An 1871 church bell in Edgartown that has sat dormant for nearly 20 years is back ringing again. The bell is 37 inches high and weighs 2,060 pounds, and is now located next door to the Edgartown Fire Station Museum.
After writing last week about the lack of dogs at the animal shelter, one appeared a few days ago. Scooby is a large red male Doberman. He is three years old and, so far, seems to have a sweet nature.
The late West Tisbury town moderator was remembered at the first annual Pat Gregory Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Woods Hole Golf Club. Sixty-seven people hit the links and shared memories of their friend who loved to teach, work and play golf.
