This fall marks the return of Shed: Conversations About Race from Martha’s Vineyard, a podcast hosted by Eric Adams. The new season debuted on Oct. 8, and is produced by Mr. Adams and MVYRADIO. It includes 10 newly recorded episodes.
Shed originated in 2021 with Mr. Adams as host and produced by Chris Fischer and Amy Schumer, and the Vineyard Gazette. The second season, produced by the Vineyard Gazette, aired in February 2023.
Recording, production and editing for the current season was done at MVYRADIO’s studios in West Tisbury, the radio station said in a press release.
Mr. Adams is a year-round resident of Martha’s Vineyard, employed as a therapist and a contractor. His interviews with a wide range of people and subjects incorporate his varied experiences.
The first episode of Season 3 is a two-parter, featuring Mr. Adams in conversation with Max Kenner, the creator of The Bard Prison Initiative, a program of Bard College that provides a college education and college degrees to incarcerated people in the prison system of New York.
New episodes will air every Wednesday. Future guests this season include filmmaker Dawn Porter, professor Khalil Muhammad, author Bliss Broyard and historian Bow Van Riper.
MVYRADIO provides the studio space and producer/editor Ray Whitaker, free of charge, the station wrote in the release. It also assisted in providing a hosting platform on its website, alongside previous distribution partners Apple Music, Spotify and Soundcloud. The first two seasons of Shed have been made available again on these platforms.
