Claudia Taylor has been chosen as the new poet laureate of Martha’s Vineyard for the 2024-2026 term.

Ms. Taylor grew up on the Vineyard and is a graduate of the regional high school. She received her BA in English and education from the University of York in the UK, and her master’s degree in children’s literature from the University of Cambridge.

She works at the Edgartown Public Library as the program coordinator.

A celebration will be held at Featherstone Center for the Arts June 8 at 4 p.m.
