In conjunction with the great accomplishments of his life, Tony was part of the vast golfing community here on Martha's Vineyard for almost 40 years. He played almost everyday, in every kind of weather, and in all of the charitable golfing events at every course. Everyone, and especially all of his golfing pals will miss him dearly. He was a true friend to all.

Another kind soul has left us. Where are the future Tony Bettencourt’s, his sort of people are far and few between today. Pleasant journey my friend.

A true gentleman and a true friend to Ann and me. Played many rounds of golf with Tony and enjoyed every one. He had a great laugh and a great sense of humor. A true Islander and an outstanding benefit to the community. He will be sorely missed. Condolences to Rhonda, Tony, Jr. and family.
