Aquinnah Debuts EV Charging Stations

Two new electric vehicle charging stations have opened in Aquinnah.

Two new electric vehicle charging stations have opened in Aquinnah. The free charging stations are at the town hall on State Road and at the parking area directly across from the shops at the Cliffs.

The Aquinnah climate and energy committee worked with the selectmen to secure funding for the project, using incentives from Eversource and assistance from the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC), a press release from the town energy committee said.

A grant from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection paid for 60 per cent of the hardware cost of the stations, according to the release, while Eversource installed the infrastructure at no charge to the town. Selectman and electrician Gary Haley volunteered his time to connect the stations.

That Guy MV

The only free parking in Aquinnah. Go plug in and enjoy a short walk down to the beach. I knew this Tesla would be a good purchase.

Help the planet Edgartown

Can we please try to get more chargers on island--how about at South Beach parking lot? Free is great but a modest charge is also an incentive to move your car when finished charging,
