Early Saturday morning, I had to rush my husband to the emergency room after he showed all the classic symptoms of a stroke. Part-way down Franklin street, a car was stopped by a mother turkey and babies, and the delay was increasing my panic knowing that getting help quickly was essential. As the car in front of me was able to move, I breathed more easily but must have been following too closely. Shortly after, the car ahead of me pulled over and, as I passed him, he rolled down his window and gave me the finger.
I would ask others to wonder what someone’s circumstances might be instead of so quickly resorting to being ugly. What I first took to be kindness (pulling over to let me by) was quickly replaced by that classic gesture, adding to the horror of the day.

Right you are and becoming
Lorraine EdgartownRight you are and becoming more so. We had a family member with intractable back problems so that even breathing could be painful at times. Needless to say, when traveling to doctors appointments, etc, and small errands, the rudeness and shamefulness of people in vehicles was astonishing, uncalled for and just plain low rent. No one knows what is in the vehicle in front of them; road rage is indicative of a most unhappy person which has underlying causes not connected to driving.
Wild loose free turkeys are a
Harland Gibbs Vineyard HavenWild loose free turkeys are a nuisance and a determent to public safety. Turkey poop. Loose feathers fall on property roofs and walkways. Settle in trees on someones property. Can cause delayed transportation for Emergency vehicles, delayed transport to Hospital and possible auto accidents. Drivers are rightly frustrated.
