Dear Susan,
I just looked in the Gazette today Friday April 27, 2018 and learned about your family tragedy. Such a loss is one of the deepest and toughest to bare in life. Since I was there at the beginning of your choice to live on the Vineyard I always wished you the best. May the good memories from your life there with your family give you comfort now....knowing none of them would have come true if you had left the Island long ago and I hadn't hired you as a swimming teacher at the Community Center in Chilmark. Those times you will always have in your heart.....let them win over the dark days ahead. I'm sure you gave your family the kind of love when they needed it. May you receive that Love from friends and family now .....I'm so very sorry about this tragic chapter during your life on the Vineyard. With respect and sympathy from your "Old Community Center Swimming friend " .... Vail Barrett
