Summer is in full swing. The VTA buses have been full all weekend. Stores have been enjoying great sales, the beaches are full. The Vineyard is overflowing.

Thank you to Cheryl and Max Batzer and their sons Travis and Lucas and wife Megan for another spectacular Fourth of July soiree. Always a great time seeing everyone and catching up on their winter adventures, as well as seeing the young ones who have grown over the years. ‘Til next year.
Gary and Lisa Foster have arrived for the summer. Their daughter Daryn was with them for the holiday weekend while their younger daughter Kayla is in the working world. Gary will travel back and forth to England during the summer while he produces a new movie.
Lisa Herrick, daughter of the late Bill and Jeannette Herrick, and her husband Drey Samuelson, are residents of Washington D.C. and have recently returned to Aquinnah as homeowners on Sandcastle Lane. Lisa and her family owned a house on Dogfish Bar for more than 40 years. She has summered on the Vineyard since she was an infant and worked at the Aquinnah Shop from ages 12 to 21. Lisa was here furnishing their home in June, with brother Michael Herrick and her son Nick Morris and his girlfriend Isabel Kirkham-Lewitt. The whole family including daughter Sarah Morris and her fiancée Megan Poore will be spending August in Aquinnah and are excited to be coming “home.” She looks forward to having plenty of time to visit with Anne Vanderhoop Madison.
All the best to Trey Huneycutt and his young son Sam who have returned to their home in California after Trey served as second in command at Station Menemsha. Sam was in second grade at the West Tisbury School and will be missed by his schoolmates.

Congratulations to Geoffrey Craig (Spa) Tharpe and Anja May on their recent engagement. No date has been set for the nuptials but Anja and her sons Finn and Yossi Monahan will be moving from Jeffers Way to Church Street. Was Spa the one last eligible bachelor in Aquinnah?
All the best to Spencer Thigpen, his wife Jamie and their children Faith and Wyatt, who have been transferred from Station Menemsha to a northern part of Maine. Spencer had the best office in the new boathouse overlooking Menemsha Harbor. Jamie was an integral part of the staff at West Tisbury School, which Faith and Wyatt attended. They will all be greatly missed by their many friends from the past two years.
