Corey T. Maciel has been promoted to a lieutenant in the Bexar County sheriff’s office in San Antonio, Tex., where he has been employd since 2006.

Lieutenant Maciel is a 1990 graduate of Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and 1994 graduate of Gallaudet University.

He is the son of former Vineyard residents Gerald F. Maciel Sr. and Norma White.

He will be assigned as an assistant shift commander of Bexar County Adult Detention Center, overseeing approximately 100 employees and 3,500 Inmates.

Lieutenant Maciel is currently pursuing an executive master in public administration degree from Texas Southern University in Houston, Tex.
