To support the outing program at the Chilmark School, the PTO is hosting a Red Hot Blues fundraiser, featuring the Mike Benjamin Band supplying the tunes. The event is Saturday, Jan 24, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Chilmark Community Center.

There will be live and silent auctions, including vacations to France and/or Maui, half-day paddle boarding, seasoned cord wood, dinner for six by Chef Robert Lionette, hand-dipped beeswax candles, the list is long and diverse.

The outing program at the school has been in existence for 20 years and helps the students broaden their horizons outside of the classroom and the Island. Ski trips, a week aboard the Alabama and kayak adventures are annual highlights.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day of the event, and can be purchased online without a fee at ticketsmv.com/chilmark, at the school or by calling 508-696-4911. Donations are also accepted online.
