<p>I am in favor of Stop &amp; Shop&rsquo;s new store in Vineyard Haven. I have many reasons for wanting to see the new store built to replace their old, run down store.</p>

I am in favor of Stop & Shop’s new store in Vineyard Haven. I have many reasons for wanting to see the new store built to replace their old, run down store.

Vineyard Haven needs a shot in the arm and the new store will help. Nobody else will spend the millions of dollars needed to build a new store. Stop & Shop has been a good neighbor and they should be allowed to have a better building. From what I can tell, Stop & Shop has done a good job working with the town to make a good project. Stop & Shop will provide additional and needed parking. The new store will employ more people. The new store will pay more taxes.

For all of these reasons and more, I hope you will support this important project.

Honestly

Where did you get the figures showing an increase in taxes? According to the Tisbury tax assessor it will actually be a decrease in taxes because of the combining of lots. I suggest checking your facts first before making any statements.
