Rebecca Claussen and Erik Claussen of Oak Bluffs announce the birth of a daughter, Lillian Rebecca Claussen, born on Nov. 20, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Lillian weighed 6 pounds, 15.4 ounces at birth.

Pricila Ray and Casey Ray of Vineyard Haven announce the birth of a daughter, Crystal Nichole Ray, born on Nov. 19, 2009, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Crystal weighed 6 pounds, 7.6 ounces at birth.

The roster of animals available for adoption at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is all feline; we have some great cats looking for new homes and some have been at the shelter for a long time, so won’t you please come and see them?

H1N1 Vaccinations

H1N1 flu vaccinations are available for anyone in the following high risk groups:

Pregnant women,

People who live with or care for children younger than six months of age,

Children six months through four years of age,

Children five years through 18 years of age who have chronic medical conditions.

Please note: the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard will have reduced hours during Thanksgiving week. The shelter will close at noon the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. It will close again at noon on the Friday after Thanksgiving; Saturday hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Regular hours will resume the following week.
