On Saturday, March 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., ACE MV will hold at reading at the Bunch of Grapes Bookstore in Vineyard Haven. The reading will feature students from the writing classes of Cynthia Riggs and Nancy Aronie. Featured readers are Cynthia Riggs, Amy Reece, Lisa Belcastro, Catherine Finch, Taffy McCarthy, Kanta Lipsky, Anna Conathan and Joyce Wagner.
Kate Feiffer is headed off-Broadway. Ms. Feiffer’s book My Mom Is Trying to Ruin My Life was adapted for stage and first appeared at the Vineyard Playhouse. Last weekend the play had its New York city premiere at the Workshop Theatre at 312 West 36th street. The play continues through Sunday March 10.
On Sunday, Feb. 17, at 5:30 p.m. the 28th annual MLK Jr. members and awards dinner of the Martha’s Vineyard branch of the NAACP will be celebrated at The Grill on Main Street in Edgartown. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the featured guest speaker is Patricia J. Williams.

The West Tisbury Library is hosting a free poetry workshop every Friday in February from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop is for intermediate and advanced writers and will focus primarily on critique with writing prompts included on occasion. The workshop will be limited to five participants.
