Judith Ernst Linn, 90
Judith Ernst Linn died at her home in New York City on July 5, surrounded by family and friends. She was 90.
Born in the Bronx, Judie attended The Ethical Culture School and Russell Sage College, before graduating from NYU.
Her careers included preschool teacher at Temple Emmanuel, photo editor and school fundraising volunteer. She returned to academia to earn her MSW from NYU at the age of 65 and work for Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services.
She spent every summer for the past 60-plus years at her cherished home on Martha’s Vineyard. Among her favorite activities, she enjoyed her late husband, Victor, playing in the Martha’s Vineyard Concert Band, attending the community sings at The Tabernacle, venturing to the Ag Fair and artisan fairs, visiting her favorite art galleries, cultivating her garden and so much more. The Vineyard was where her heart and spirit truly soared.
She is predeceased by her husband Victor and survived by sons, Gregory (Lisa) and Jason (Abby), sister Naomi Paley, and grandchildren JJ (Victoria), Emily, Zachary, Phoebe and Hugo, as well as her dog LilyB, all of whom she loved and treasured.
