The Chappy Community Center potluck supper is on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your favorite dish enough to share with eight of your neighbors. The recent breach of Norton point on New Year’s Day morning has definitely established itself. At the moment, it is behaving as prior long time breaches have. This one has begun closer to the southeast corner of Wasque than the 2007 to 2014 opening by half the distance. Given that one factor, this breach would likely close up in three to four years. However, the breach of 2022 which prompted the demise of a house on the Wasque bluffs closed up in only two years. So, it will be anybody’s guess how long this one will exist and how much erosion it will cause. The next household hazardous materials collection at the MV refuse transfer station will take place in May. See the website for further information regarding what is accepted and what is not. For instance, latex paint is not collected. Merely open the can, let it dry out and add it to your regular trash. They do take small amounts of motor oil.
