The vaccine clinic held on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the regional high school transformed the cafeteria into a place of protection and hope — for the volunteers who gave their time, their patience, their kindness, one person at a time; and for the planners, nurses, translators and community organizations who made care feel human.

Because of you, safety traveled hand to hand, and community became something we could feel, not just say. Each dose carried more than medicine — it carried trust, solidarity and the belief that looking after one another is a shared responsibility.

Thank you to Dave Caron and the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital team, Leah Palmer of Communication Ambassador Partnership and MVRHS, Kathleen Samways of Island Health Care, the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School as host and supporter, Jennelle Gadowski and the community emergency response team, municipal staff, health agents and, most importantly, the volunteer nurses who showed up with steady hands and open hearts.

Through connection and care, community turns challenges into collective hope.
