Land Bank Revenues as of Dec. 19

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $400,946 for the business week ending on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $400,946 for the business week ending on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Edgartown, where six transactions resulted in $194,806. Three transactions earned $102,640 in Oak Bluffs. Three transactions generated $54,500 in West Tisbury. One transaction resulted in $42,400 in Aquinnah. And one transaction resulted in $6600 in Tisbury. No eligible transactions were recorded in Chilmark.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 4,206 acres of Vineyard land.
