Aquinnah residents are invited to attend a listening session on Thursday for a proposal to create an overlay district that envisions a town corridor.

The session will be held at the Aquinnah town hall on Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

The town received a Massachusetts Rural Development Grant in late 2024 for $95,000 to fund a study that would help guide the early stages of envisioning a town corridor, which could connect different parts of the town and offer opportunities for affordable housing and storefronts.

Aquinnah hired Rhode Island-based municipal consulting network, Libra Planners, to gather community feedback and help envision the corridor’s future layout. At the meeting, Libra Planners will present responses from a survey where residents voiced what they feel is needed in town.
