We have no adoptions to report but we do have a number of new residents
We have no adoptions to report but we do have a number of new residents. Our pet of the week is Micki, a 14 year-old, female domestic short hair cat who is gray and white. This girl came from a quiet home and would do best in a similar situation with no other animals. Micki is very depressed being in the shelter so we’re hoping her new family will find her sooner rather than later. Additionally, her adoption fee will be waived.
We have a few other cats in need of homes. Cricket is a six-year-old, tabby and white female that is indoor/outdoor. She is currently on a special diet due to her plumpness, which will need to be continued until she returns to her optimum weight.
Silver Sox is a two-year-old, medium-haired, gray and white male. This boy is so nice, friendly and playful that the staff is calling him Mr. Entertainment due to how much fun he is. Come meet him and see if you’re charmed.
And last, but not least, is Hickory, a four-year-old, gray and white male who is an indoor/outdoor cat. Hickory has a chronic UTI problem and is on a special diet that will need to be continued, but since it may be caused by stress, he might grow out of it once in a stable environment.
The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular shelter hours: 508-627-8662.
