Edgartown Town Column: Week Ending Oct. 3
After the up and down of temperatures this past week, after talking to a few people, the popular vote is mostly ready for cooler weather.
After the up and down of temperatures this past week, after talking to a few people, the popular vote is mostly ready for cooler weather. And yet some don’t, including myself, want long sleeve weather. It is now 62 degrees, and it will be until Saturday when the temperatures for the weekend will once again be in the mid 70’s. Well we are in New England.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to all those school kids who celebrated their day. Progress is being made to get the list as I talked to Pam Alwardt and she has my name on her desk to print it out. Now I just have to get it.
Trivia at the Barn Bowl & Bistro in Oak Bluffs has started their new season. Dan Cassidy host the teams and tests our minds for memory and knowledge. It is a fun night out, the food is good, the company is great and you get to see how smart you are. You can play by giving the Barn a call and making reservations for a team. Trivia is on Monday nights from 7:30 p.m. to around 9:30 p.m., with no more than six to a team.
I had company on Tuesday so we went to the Wharf Pub for dinner and found out it was burger night. All burgers are $19, and it was worth every penny, not to mention there were many style burgers on the menu. There will be more restaurants soon with weekly night specials, but this was the first one we found and it was a great find.
Even though it is fall, Donaroma’s is already planning a big Evening of Enchantment event for Christmas in Edgartown. The name of the theme is “The Land of the Northern Lights.” It will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11. Keep an eye out for the exact time.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
