Land Bank Revenues as of August 1

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $206,897 for the business week ending on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $206,897 for the business week ending on Friday, August 1, 2025. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of West Tisbury, where two transactions resulted in $78,560. One transaction earned $76.000 in Tisbury. Two transactions resulted in $30,537 in Edgartown. Two transactions in Oak Bluffs earned $21,000. And one transaction in Chilmark resulted in $800. No eligible transactions were recorded in Aquinnah.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 4,206 acres of Vineyard land.
