Please Adopt Us

We have no adoptions to report this week, but we do have two adoptions pending for Cleo (a young, tabby and white male) and Peaches (a white and black girl).

We have no adoptions to report this week, but we do have two adoptions pending for Cleo (a young, tabby and white male) and Peaches (a white and black girl). Congratulations to these cats and their new families.

Our pets of the week are two beautiful, eleven-week-old kittens. Buddy, the male, is dark gray and the shyer of the two. He may hiss at you but he’s all hiss and no bite. Bailey, the female, is buff colored and very sweet and calm. These two won’t last long so call soon if interested.

Also available is Martin, a fifteen-year-old tabby gentleman whose age you would never guess. He’s still playful and a really nice boy. If you have it in your heart to adopt this wonderful cat his adoption fee will be waived.

Thank you to all who attended the Celebration of Pets and Blessing of the Animals at the Agricultural Hall on July 24. A fun time was had by all.

And when you and your dogs are enjoying the Dog Bar on North Water street in Edgartown you can also make a donation to the shelter.

The hot summer weather is here, please be aware of the temperature when thinking of taking your best friend on an outing with you. Hot pavement can burn tender pads and a hot car can become deadly in a matter of minutes. Leave your best friend home.

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is here for our community. We’re always available and our door is always open should your adoption not be a perfect fit. Also, if anyone is in need of cat food, dog food, or a crate, we have plenty and are happy to share. The Island Food Pantry also has pet food for those in need. Just give us a call during regular Shelter hours.
