A.F. Cook will host an art reception at the West Tisbury Library on August 7, and a climate talk at the Chilmark Library on August 8.
On August 7, an art reception will be held at the West Tisbury Public Library from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for A.F. Cook’s survey show of landscape, portrait and still life paintings. The show is titled Freedom of Color and opens August 2 and runs until August 30.
On display will be a range of pieces, mostly completed in the past two years, emphasizing color and contrast.
On Friday, August 8, Ms. Cook will host a presentation and discussion as part of the Chilmark Free Public Library’s Lunch & Learn series. The talk begins at 11:30 a.m., and is titled, Prelude to Now: Overcoming Climate-Change Denial In the U.S. The presentation will focus on lesser-publicized causes of climate-change denialism and offer a range of considerations to move forward.
