Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of West Tisbury, where four transactions resulted in $207,400. Seven transactions earned $169,920 in Edgartown. Three transactions resulted in $153,500 in Tisbury. Two transactions earned $63,200 in Chilmark. And, three transactions resulted in $29,200 in Oak Bluffs. No eligible transactions were recorded in Aquinnah.
The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 4,206 acres of Vineyard land.
