Land Bank Revenues: Week Ending May 16

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $179,115.06 for the business week ending on Friday, May 16, 2025. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank reported revenues of $179,115.06 for the business week ending on Friday, May 16, 2025. The land bank receives its funds from a two per cent fee charged on many Vineyard real estate transactions.

Much of the land bank revenue last week came from the town of Edgartown, where six transactions resulted in $101,480.10. One transaction earned $37,000 in West Tisbury. Seven transaction resulted in $27,231.76 in Tisbury. And one transaction in Chilmark resulted in $13,403.20. No eligible transactions were recorded in Aquinnah or Oak Bluffs.

The land bank uses its revenues to purchase and manage land for purposes of conservation, preservation and passive recreation. To date the agency has participated in the purchase of more than 4,206 acres of Vineyard land.
