The Friends of Mill Pond announce an art exhibit entitled Celebrating the Mill Pond: Sustaining Serenity Together. The show takes place in March, as part of a month-long awareness campaign.
The group is currently accepting art submissions, with a deadline of Feb. 7. To participate, email [email protected] with a jpeg image, including the title, medium, dimensions and year of the work. Historic and contemporary works are welcome.

Nelson Sigelman Vineyard HavenMill Pond evokes serenity; however, lovely images of its placid surface do not reflect the harm this mud-filled artificial impoundment, which rises above 80 degrees in the summer, inflicts on the natural ecology of Mill Brook. Hopefully, this art exhibit will include images of what a free-flowing brook with sloping natural banks, open to the passage of herring, brook trout, and American eels, could look like.
