Mill Pond evokes serenity; however, lovely images of its placid surface do not reflect the harm this mud-filled artificial impoundment, which rises above 80 degrees in the summer, inflicts on the natural ecology of Mill Brook. Hopefully, this art exhibit will include images of what a free-flowing brook with sloping natural banks, open to the passage of herring, brook trout, and American eels, could look like.
