Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School ice hockey co-captains Nate Averill and Hunter Johnson competed in the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC on Sunday, Oct. 27, both finishing in under 5 hours.

Hunter commented that it was easy up to mile 22 but then the pain kicked in. Nate said he struggled earlier but finished strong.

Both agreed that they might prefer a shorter race in the future and in any case hockey season begins in five weeks.
