West Tisbury renewed police chief Matt Mincone’s contract Wednesday night, extending his role in the town through March 2027.
The chief will have a salary of $189,885 and receive a 2.5 per cent raise in the second year and third year of his contract.
“It mimics the last contract,” said town administrator Jennifer Rand.
Mr. Mincone, who attended the meeting via Zoom, was promoted from lieutenant to chief in 2018 and succeeded former chief Dan Rossi.
On Wednesday, the select board unanimously approved the contract.
The contract still has to be reviewed by the town’s attorney before it goes into effect.

It really is staggering how
Bob EdgartownIt really is staggering how much the Island spends on the police force. This is one police chief and the island has six and it also has many retired police chiefs with large pensions. An amazing amount of taxpayer dollars that could easily be consolidated.
