Circuit Arts, in partnership with the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society, will host a cinematic evening next week at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury to celebrate Island agriculture.

The lineup on Thursday, Nov. 9 begins at 7 p.m. with three short films by Vineyard Vision Fellow Matthew Taylor that tell the stories of Island conservationist Bob Woodruff and farmers Simon Athearn and Mason Fischer. The films were created from footage Mr. Taylor shot in the mid-2000s.

The short films will be followed by the 50-minute documentary feature A Painter Who Farms, a tribute to painter Allen Whiting directed by Barbarella and David Fokos.

After the screenings there will be a discussion with Allen Whiting and Simon Athearn.
